On 21st of April 2017, Bright School celebrated Kartini Day. The goal of this event is to introduce R.A. Kartini to the students.
R.A Kartini is a woman national hero who fought for women’s right, especially in education. She was born on April 21, 1879 and died on September 17, 1974. She was the founder of the school and a book publisher of “Habis Gelap Terbitlah Terang”.
This event was glamour by the traditional costumes of different regions of the country that all students and staff wore. We had some activities on that day such as: Gundul Gundul Pacul danced by the Kindergarten class, Yamko Rambe Yamko by the Casa 1, Ampar-Ampar Pisang sang by the Casa 2, Kicir-Kicir and Ondel Ondel performed by P1-P2 and P3-P4 respectively.
All students in each class showed great performances. After they performed, we had a coloring activity in each class. This event ended by a group photo session.
Thank God, the event went well and smoothly. Every kid enjoyed and had fun. From this event, we hope all the students can remember what R.A Kartini had done for the Indonesian women. And we hope our spirit of nationalism had been awakened.
Thank you everyone who supported this event.
See you next event.
